# 118 : à nouveau, un été marqué par des souvenirs de la vie...

we landed: we were fortunate enough, this year, to see another facet of the city of San Francisco and living at the rhythm of the locals for three full days.

then, we headed North, to the California Wine Country connoisseur for a day of food and drinks en tete-à-tete at the Francis Coppola winery...

...visiting the Napa-Sonoma area was a real treat to the eyes on foot, and by car.

the next morning, we got up earlier than the usual leisurely bedtime,  we went East to the Yosemite National Park for a day with the sequoias- a dream come true for me.

our ten-day stay with my brother, Jean-Philippe, in Salt Lake City where I visited with different family members and friends was a time to have some well-deserved fun and to reconnect...

in fact, my husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary with JP and his partner.

while in the SLC area, I also had the opportunity to sharpen my bread-making skills with my Indonesian sister-in-law, Cempaka. Our family is quite cosmopolitan and I find this fact so rich in colour and culture, tradition and flavour.
Emily, Debbie-Ann and myself: former undergraduate roommates briefly meeting downtown SLC. These women are simply put, stunning!
it was time to hit the road, once again. And, as planned, our itinerary lead us to the colourful city of Santa Fe then stopped at a typical  Nashville bar (photo above).
a short drive later- by American driving standards, we were at our dear friends' apartment in Rolla, Missouri for a weekend of catching up, going to the flea market, discovering the caves nearby...
…savouring some authentic food: BBQ from this part of the States.
Before we knew it, it was time to head to Dallas. Texas…where we visited, for history's sake: "The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza".
last, but certainly not the least of our destination: we 'saddled up' our mini rental for our final US city. Chicago.
we took-off: at the end, we enjoyed every single day of our summer trip visiting family and close friends. On our last day, we listened to a free (night) outdoor orchestra concert at the Millennium Park in the "Windy City".
