i find that remnants of burnt candles to be a sure sign of a life well-lived: alone, with close family members and dear friends.

and, of course,  the simple fact of brewing a 70-degree-celcius pot of water reassures me of the meaning of genuine friendship that has to be created, cultivated and maintained throughout life's journey. 

the natural and regular ritual of changing the window drapes from dark grey cotton to bright yellow-corn linen is a reminder of my love of warmer temperatures.  

this month: May is the start of the flea market/French brocante season…oui, il y a des petites fleurs.

for as long as i can remember, i think that i've always like vegetables and fish. i've come across this French brand that is   a sheer delight for the gourmet in me. there will be soups this Spring in my household!
